and Canine Couture Fashion Show

Saturday, June 2nd. 2012   8:30am – 1 pm

Paws on Poyntz:

Featuring Downtown Manhattan’s 11th Annual Weenie Dog Races, where Dachshunds get to strut their stuff!  And new this year – All-Breeds Canine Couture Fashion Show & Contests!

This unique event draws participants from all over Kansas and is a great time for everyone to come downtown with their dog, socialize with other dogs and dog owners and watch the races, demonstrations and all-breed dog contests as well as shop for unique pet goods.  Tons of vendors, tons of freebies and of course, tons of doggie love!

8:30    Race & fashion show registration on the patio at AJ’s Pizzeria ($5 per dog)

10:00   Mutt Strut:  weenie dog parade at the race track

10:15    Pre-race warm-ups

10:30    Weenie Dog Races begin

AJ’s Pizzeria on the patio:

Pizza & Paws:  take a break with your dog on the shady patio:
There will be cool water for your dog, you can order pizza & a cool drink
-  and your dog gets a pizza dough “bone” with your order.

Howl-A-Dayz Inn & Daycare

Balloon dogs for the kids!
They will also have information about their boarding, grooming and daycare facility.

Gaia Salonspa

Will be providing nail care and hair styling for your dog.
A portion of all sales will go to local shelters.

Pottawatomie County Caring Hearts Humane Society

Will be bringing adoptable dogs as well as dog treats, t-shirts, magnets, etc offered for donations.

Farmers’ Coop of Manhattan

Will be giving away samples of their exclusive pet food.

Scentsy Wickless Candles

Scentsy wickless candles are a safer alternative for pets, children and your home.
30% of all sales will go to a local area shelter.

Four Paws Rescue of Kansas

Will bring adoptable dogs and Four Paws Rescue merchandise offered for donations.

Sunflower Natural Pet Supplies (formerly Manhattan Aquarium)

Will be bringing a variety of their merchandise including dog clothing.

Pampered Pet of Junction City

Will be bringing information about their operation as well as merchandise, including dog clothing for last-minute fashion show purchases and adoptable dogs.

Vista Drive-In

Their frozen lemonade is always a treat on a warm day.

PetCo

      Lots of give-aways & a PetCo dog groomer will be there.

 

Going to the Dogs!

A portion of all proceeds from the Weenie Dog Races (Downtown Manhattan, Inc.), the Canine Couture Fashion Show (Gaia Salonspa) and our Scentsy vendor will be donated to local pet charities.  Thanks to everyone involved for making this happen!

Registration will be the day of the race, beginning at 8:30 am.

Fees : $5.00 to enter race or fashion show
